Cheese n Chocolate

Janine and I went to one of our all time favorite restaurants tonight - the Melting Pot! If you've never been there you've got to try it! My favorite Melting Pot story happened up in Chicago. They boys had gone to a Chicago Bulls game, so Janine and I decided we'd go have an elegant girly dinner at the Melting Pot. We had no clue where the place was, but knew what street it was on so we asked the concierge at the hotel to point us in the right vicinity and we started walking. When we found the right street, we picked a direction in hopes that our noses would sniff out the fondue and figured if we didn't see the place after a little bit, we'd turn around and go the other direction. As luck would have it, we found it only 30 minutes into the walk or so - just on the verge of being painfully cold (it was winter mind you) but not quite to the frostbite stage yet. First things first, we ordered some cheese fondue but as the waitress was making it, she was going on and on about all the fun places we should go to while we were up there and she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. Janine and I kept looking at the pot of cheese getting bigger and bigger but of course didn't say anything. All of a sudden our waitress stops and says "Oh my gosh, I just made a pot of cheese for 6 people. Oh well, you guys can have it and I'll just charge you for 2." Umm yeah, who ate the ENTIRE pot of cheese for 6, PLUS a chocolate dessert fondue afterwards? That would be Plumpnine and Fatchen! (no offense J9) Needless to say, we waddled outta there that night fully satisfied. We keep hoping each time we go back that we will have a waitress make that same mistake (especially now that J9's prego!) but it hasn't happened yet. I'm keepin my fingers crossed...I just know it's gonna happen again one of these days. I can feel it in my bones.

After the Melting Pot, we went to Babies R Us to browse at baby stuff. I think J9 got a little overwhelmed thinking about all the stuff they are going to need, and I can totally sympathize with that. I can only imagine how scary it is for first time parents - I mean you want everything to be PERFECT for your little baby, but at the same time you feel like you have no clue what you're doing! Everyone learns though. If one thing doesn't work, you'll try another. You'll figure it out. And if not, then Auntie Gretch is here to help :)
